GENERAL INFORMATION
The Herpeto Capixaba, organiser of the HERPETORAMA, proudly makes public the Photography Contest that will be held at the II HERPETORAMA, which takes place between the 1st and 4th of October 2020.
When enrolling, the candidate agrees that his/her picture(s) may be used after the conference by Herpeto Capixaba in non-profit activities. It is worth mentioning that the credits will always be given to the author of the photograph. However, the candidate must sign the Consent Form for Image Use (Attachment I).
CATEGORIES
For the PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST, we will have FOUR (04) categories that include: WIlD FREE STYLE, MACRO, PEOPLE AND HERPETOFAUNA and PUBLIC’S CHOICE. Wild and exotic species are allowed in all categories.
FREE STYLE: photography that does not fit in the other categories. It's free
MACRO: photographs using macro lens, microscopes or stereoscopic magnifiers. For instance, an eye close-up, a tadpole’s mouth, or histological incisions.
PEOPLE AND HERPETOFAUNA: photographs where people or part of them appear in the photographs. Attention: the photographs must not expose any animal mistreatment. You should, preferably avoid photos in captivity. Valid only for native species from Brazil.
PUBLIC’S CHOICE: the public decides amongst all pictures through an online score; the photos will be exposed on the Herpeto Capixaba’s website. More information about this will be available on the 20th of September 2020.
ENROLLMENT and RULES

You may only enroll in the contest if you are already enrolled in the II Herpetorama.

The candidate must enroll the photo between the 20th of July and the 20th of September 2020.

Photographs that have already won a prize in other contests will not be accepted (of any type); if proven fraud, the candidate will be disqualified.

The images must not expose any animal mistreatment.

Candidates must fill out the enrollment form (Attachment) and send it with your digitalized photograph(s) in high resolution to herpetorama@gmail.com

The photographs need to be COPYRIGHT and must not have any CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

It will be allowed that each participant competes with ONE (01) ILLUSTRATION per category, being permitted to participate in ALL FOUR (04) categories.

To have validity, each category must have at least THREE (03) competitors. In this context, the category that has two (02) or less participants will be removed from the contest.
HOW TO SEND
The photographs must be sent by e-mail directly attached as IMAGES (jpeg, jpg, png, or tiff). In the SUBJECT of the e-mail you must write PHOTOGRAPH CONTEST – “CATEGORY” substituting the word category for the one that the candidate chose.
The file should be named according to the chosen category, for instance:
“HERPETORAMA_Photograph_categoryofphoto_nameofauthor”
Each image should contain the following information:

A title in one sentence up to 50 characters (mandatory).

Species/Popular name (when applicable).

Location/Date.
FEES
There are no fees to participate of the photography contest: your enrollment in the II Herpetorama already guarantees your participation in this contest.
PROCESS of EVALUATION and PRIZES
Each category will be awarded with 1st place.
The Organizing Committee of the II Herpetorama will randomly enumerate each photograph, concealing the author’s name. The evaluation will be done by the Judging Committee of the Photography Contest. Each photograph will be evaluated individually and by category. The committee will be composed of the following Herpeto Capixaba’s members: Rafael Mathielo, Lucas Rosado, Ubiratã Souza, Leonardo Merçon and Thiago Silva-Soares.
The final SCORE for each photograph will be the average of the scores. Each evaluator will give a SCORE from 1 to 10 in each of the three criteria:
1) Interaction between photograph and title;
2) Originality and creativity;
3) Technical Quality;
4) Rarity of the Species/registration.
RESULTS DISCLOSURE
The result of the selection process of the photographs will be released live, on the 04th of October before the closing lecture of the II Herpetorama.
During the II Herpetorama, the photographs will be exposed on the Herpeto Capixaba’s website at www.herpetocapixaba.com.br, where they should possibly stay permanently as a record of the I Herpeto Capixaba’s Photography Contest.

I ILLUSTRATION CONTEST

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Herpeto Capixaba, organiser of the HERPETORAMA, proudly makes public the Illustration Contest that will be held at the II HERPETORAMA, which takes place between the 1st and 4th of October 2020.
When enrolling, the candidate agrees that his/her illustration(s) may be used after the conference by Herpeto Capixaba in non-profit activities. It is worth mentioning that the credits will always be given to the author of the illustration. However, the candidate must sign the Consent Form for Illustration Use (Attachment).
CATEGORIES
For the ILLUSTRATION CONTEST, we will have FIVE (05) categories that include: WATERCOLOUR (AQUARELLE), PONTILLISM, COLOURED PENCILS, FREE STYLE, and DIGITAL.
In the FREE STYLE category, the candidates will compete freely with their chosen style, as long as it does NOT qualify as one of the above categories. For instance, the following ones fit into FREE STYLE: ink, graffiti, marker pens, posca, charcoal, gouache ink, among others.

I VOCALIZATION CONTEST
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Herpeto Capixaba, organiser of the HERPETORAMA, proudly makes public the Vocalization Contest that will be held at the II HERPETORAMA, which takes place between the 1st and 4th of October 2020.
When enrolling, the candidate agrees that his/her illustration(s) may be used after the conference by Herpeto Capixaba in non-profit activities. It is worth mentioning that the credits will always be given to the author of the illustration. However, the candidate must sign the Consent Form for Image Use (Attachment).
CATEGORIES
We will have 03 (three) categories for the VOCALIZATION CONTEST: SOLO, DUETTO or CHORUS.
SOLO – The candidate will vocalize by himself! Good luck to attract a partner after!
DUETTO – In general, species that vocalize in duetto are competing, however, here you are going to aggregate as a pair! Couples in a relationship are very welcome!
CHORUS – Up to five (05) candidates, do your symphony! The anurans that participate here will be able to imitate the chorus of a type of species, or even a whole swamp!
ENROLLMENT and RULES

You may only enroll in the contest if you are already enrolled in the II Herpetorama.

The candidates must enroll between 31th of August and 20th of September 2020.

Candidates must fill out the enrollment form (Attachment) and send it with a recording or video containing the vocalization of the herpetofauna itself to herpetorama@gmail.com

It will be allowed that each participant competes in ALL categories.

It is obligatory that the vocalization imitations are of the HERPETOFAUNA species.
-
To have validity, each category must have at least THREE (03) competitors. In this context, the category that has two (02) or less participants will be removed from the contest.
HOW TO SEND
The vocalization video or audio must be sent attached to the email in a MP3 or MP4 format. In the email’s SUBJECT, you must write VOCALIZATION CONTEST – “CATEGORY” replacing the word category for the chosen by the candidate, as well as the candidate’s name. Each enrollment should have the following data:

FEES
There are no fees to participate of the Illustration contest: your enrollment in the II Herpetorama already guarantees your participation in this contest.
PROCESS of EVALUATION and PRIZES
Candidates must attend the chosen conference platform to do ALIVE the imitation of the chosen species. The evaluation of the SOLO, DUETTO and CHORUS categories will be determined by the Judging Committee of the Vocalization Contest, will be composed of the following Herpeto Capixaba’s members: Jéssyca Paulon, Beatriz Brito and Thiago Silva-Soares.
Each category will receive 1º place. We will also have a prize ‘O SAPO NÃO LAVA O PÉ’ for the best/worse/funniest/boldest vocalization – we will decide together - committee and public - on the spot! Therefore, we will have a total of four (04) prizes.
The final SCORE for each imitation will be the average of the scores. Each evaluator will give a SCORE from 1 to 10 in each of the four criteria:
1) Similarity with the vocalization;
2) Applied Technique;
3) Participant’s Performance;
4) Public’s Interaction.
RESULTS DISCLOSURE
The result of the contest will be released live, on the 04th of October before the closing lecture of the II Herpetorama.
